I have had RSI (or an RSI-like condition) for approximately three years, apparently due to long periods of intensive computer use (especially keyboard and mouse). At its worst, my condition involved stiffness, pain and altered sensation in my right hand, fingertips, wrist and forearm to such an extent that I was not able to hold a pencil or toothbrush comfortably. My GP was not able to offer well-informed or helpful treatment, though I was eventually referred to a physiotherapist in a local hospital, who treated the condition with ultrasound and a wrist splint. That treatment, combined with rest from keyboard use (and shifting my mouse-use to my left hand) reduced the worst of the symptoms, though it left me with constant background pain in my hand and forearm. For this reason, I looked into treatment of RSI at Direct D-Stress and eventually booked twice-weekly sessions over a period of five weeks. After treatments for my RSI at Direct D-Stress, I can confidently say that the level of background pain and discomfort, especially in my palm and forearm, is very much reduced. After each treatment my hand, wrist and arm feel comfortable, relaxed and ‘light’ and, although the discomfort returns when I am forced to type a lot, my level of ‘general background pain’ when I stop typing is much lower. Ling has also recommended exercises for my hands and wrists which have been very beneficial, too. I will not hesitate to recommend treatment from Direct D-Stress.

I had severe shoulder and neck ache for months on end and was getting very depressed. The pain was not going away and I was aching and clicking all over the place. I thought I was becoming a cripple. I had seen a chiropractor, paying a fortune for 10-minute visits which did not seem to do anything. The doctor did not seem to be able to help me except to rule out rheumatoid arthritis and I was ignorant of what to do, having never experienced this sort of pain before. I’m reasonably fit and healthy, but have just turned 50 and was getting really scared.

I found Lily by chance surfing the web and was desperate for help. After a first visit, Lily’s confident, practical and kindly approach lifted my spirits and her hands worked wonders on my stiff, sore neck and back, getting my circulation back into action. As well as this, the exercises she showed me really relieved the pain and stiffness and I put myself on a regime of three-times-a-day, being pro-active in my recovery. I felt I was in control and most of all, positive. Lily gave me hope and put me on the road to recovery — she treated my symptoms as RSI (repetitive strain injury and yes, I work on the computer a great deal and I drive long distances – why didn’t I think of this!)

After only three weeks of intense sessions, twice weekly, I felt I was getting better and loosening up. Lily’s massage techniques went deeper and deeper into the root causes of my pain, treating the whole of my back, my head and aiming to make the Qi flow again. More than this, my energy has lifted. Lily is friendly and enthusiastic about her techniques. She made me feel relaxed and very special. In my view, she is very gifted. Thank you, Lily!

A car accident I had in November 2006 resulted in a whiplash and one of the problems I had was a very stiff neck and painful shoulder for about 4 months. I visited Lily after colleagues recommended her to me and through four sessions over 2 weeks the stiffness problem in the neck and pain in the shoulder really improved. I am feeling much better now and more relaxed!

I had a whip lash injury that left me with pain and stiffness in my neck and upper back. After 4 sessions with Lily and doing the recommended stretches in between I was back to normal in 2 weeks! You can really feel the muscles being worked on. We also had really interesting conversations that helped to take my mind off the painful bits!

Dear Lily, I just want to thank you for helping me with my neck and back problems that I have suffered with for years now. As you know the problem was from five car accidents and required a lot of work and with your help for the first time I can move my neck freely and without discomfort. This is something that alternative therapists had not been able to achieve. I am eternally grateful!

After many years of racket sports my doctor diagnosed tennis elbow on my left elbow. His basic prescription was to wear a therapeutic band around my upper forearm to reduce the tension on the ligaments around the joint. This worked to a point but I had to wear the band while playing or using the arm, I also had to continue with anti-inflammatory drugs.

A friend of University of Leeds mentioned Chinese Physio Massage Therapy with Lily and the fact that it had worked on an ankle ligament problem he had suffered from. I decided to give Lily a try and after three treatment sessions over 2 weeks I have felt massive benefits, to the point where I have no need to use drugs to control the pain and no longer use the armband at all.

I cannot praise Lily’s skill and her professional attitude enough, and would recommend anyone with a muscular, ligament or deep tissue problem to give her a try!

Wonderful! I tried the 15 min energising chair massage which was really good and I felt so relaxed, especially when she worked on my neck and shoulders. Lily is extremely professional. She helped me get back to training with a sports massage after I strained my knees and was hobbling around. I’ve been able to do my workout as good as usual since then. I really appreciate it.

For over a year I have experienced a dull aching pain near my right knee. If ever I ran the pain would intensify and after long walks the aching would return. I have had three sessions with Lily. In the first session Lily examined the problem to determine what area of the knee needed attention and then set about working on the knee and giving a series of exercises to perform to aid with the treatment. The treatment concentrated on the ligaments near my knee. Each session lasted a full hour and was never rushed. After the first session I could feel the benefits as the aching although present was reduced. The second session three days later reduced the aching by over half.

Between the second and third session I went on family holiday which resulted in walking a very lot around the cobbled streets. The pain never returned. Due to the long activity in walking I decided upon a further session. This massage session like the others was specific to my knee area. After the session the knee and leg feels loose and NO aching. The sports massage Lily performed together with the exercise plan Lily advised has helped my knee incredibly. Thank you Lily!

Amazing! Over a year ago I tore the MCL ligaments in my knee and did damage to my cartilage, after nearly a year out from playing top level Hockey and visits to many different physiotherapists, who told me I would have to live with the pain, I found Lily and after 6 sessions the pain has gone! I am looking to start training again over summer and start the new season with a new passion for the game after thinking I may never play at a high level again! Its all thanks to Lily’s healing hands! Highly recommended!

Lily has healing hands! I have suffered on and off with an injury to my right knee for many years. I limped into Lily’s treatment room at a time when my knee was particularly sore. After just one session the pain in my knee had eased considerably and had virtually disappeared by the following day. The combination of effective massage and applying heat has worked wonders for this problem. I strongly recommend Lily and her extremely effective sports massage therapy.
